When President Obama signed the repeal of the discriminatory "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy in 2010, it was the culmination of years of work on the ground, in the courts, behind the scenes, and in the media. Examining how this victory came about-including the stumbling blocks along the way-can help the LGBT movement devise strategies for building towards success on other critical issues in our community.

Rea Carey

When Rea Carey became the Executive Director of the Task Force in 2008, she already had a long history of leadership in the LGBT community. As the keynote speaker at this year's Givers & Shakers Conference, she'll share her perspective on the state of the national LGBT movement today and how each of us can make a difference.
