The Transgender District

OVERVIEW

The Transgender District is the world’s first legally recognized transgender district, dedicated to empowering and creating opportunities for transgender and gender nonconforming (TGNC) individuals in the Tenderloin and broader San Francisco Bay Area. Our work prioritizes investment in the Black and Latinx communities, providing services that foster economic empowerment, cultural enrichment, and healing. Our mission is to sustain the rich history, culture, legacy, and contributions of transgender people in the southeastern Tenderloin neighborhood.
