OVERVIEW
Queer Surf supports the mental, physical, and social health of non binary, queer, and transgender people through relationship to the the ocean. Queer Surf centers coastal stewardship, climate resilience, and marine ecology. To increase equitable access to coastal nature and recreation, Queer Surf offers 72 days of ocean recreation annually and builds a resilient and knowledgeable network of queer ocean lovers.
Founded in San Francisco in 2016, Queer Surf serves 2,500 queers annually through surf lessons, overnight surf and sea camps, and ocean recreation statewide in California. Queer Surf serves majority low income, QTBIPOC and gender nonconforming folks.
