The National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) is the lobbyist and leading association of over 1,600 Christian Right Wing media concerns, from rural outposts to global media empires that have stations in dozens of countries and broadcast in 230 languages. Members of the NRB dominate the airwaves both here and abroad. Having co-opted the communications infrastructure built in the early 1900s in Africa and elsewhere, they now manipulate a significant swath of public discourse and religious messaging in politics in the Global South. Support to map the financial and social capital relationships between National Religious Broadcasters members and the churches, advertisers, venues, and syndicated shows and then explore a variety of methodologies that can challenge them: call-ins, social media counter campaigns, constituency education, media buys. This project is one track within the Know Your Neighbors campaign we lead in partnership with Political Research Associates.
