Horizons Gala 2024 Celebrates Resilience, Brilliance and Diversity of Bay Area’s LGBTQ Community
Close to 250 people filled the vibrant halls of the California Academy of Science in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park on Saturday, October 5 for Horizons Foundation’s Gala 2024. The stars of the evening were the two honorees: Dr. Marcy Adelman, Co-founder of Openhouse, who received the Visionary Award for her pioneering vision and profound contribution to LGBTQ seniors; and Suzanne Ford, Executive Director of San Francisco Pride, who received the Leadership Award for her exceptional leadership and unwavering commitment to the LGBTQ community.
D’Arcy Drollinger, San Francisco’s First Drag Laureate and owner of OASIS nightclub, together with the troupe from The Golden Girls Live!, San Francisco’s wildly popular drag parody of the iconic sitcom, opened the night with their signature sarcastic barbs. During the main program, our generous supporters helped us raise thousands of dollars in support of Horizons and our community partners. And at the after party, DJ Lamont spun lively tracks to keep the night going as circus performers roamed the floor dazzling the eye. Finally, local queer artists criibaby and Emjay Mercury delighted guests with heartfelt, unique performances.
Horizons congratulates the evening’s raffle prize winners:
