OVERVIEW
Our mission is to join with schools and communities in an innovative, intersectional approach to cultivate more gender and LGBTQIA+ affirming environments for our youth. We believe our work will be the early intervention that can serve as a catalyst to change systematic invisibility for LGBTQIA+ youth.
Our overall goals are to reduce mental health disparities, improve wellness, and strengthen social connections for LGBTQIA+ folks, with a focus on transgender, nonbinary, and gender fluid youth and those who support them. Our programs include the Saving Lives Now Project (SLNP) and the Rainbow Awareness Project (RAP). SLNP is designed to impact the LGBTQIA+ community through trainings and consultation sessions; APT student clubs; and campaigns related to local compliance with state legislation. The RAP uses art, literature, community events and life-affirming imagery to bring people together across genders, ages, racial/ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.
