OVERVIEW

On The Move (OTM) was founded in 2004 with a mission to develop and sustain young people as leaders by building exceptional programs that challenge inequities in their communities. OTM has implemented an array of initiatives in Northern California, developing community-based solutions to alleviating inequities.

In 2011, in response to a complete lack of affirming support for LGBTQ people in Napa, OTM partnered with youth leaders to launch LGBTQ Connection. LGBTQ Connection promotes LGBTQ youth leadership, strengthens underserved populations within the LGBTQ community, and builds safe and welcoming outposts for all community members to seek and receive education and support. LGBTQ Connection has proven high levels of community impact and strong outcomes, becoming a recognized, statewide model for LGBTQ youth engagement.
