OVERVIEW
Founded over 16 years ago by queer BIPOC youth, RYSE creates safe spaces grounded in social justice that build youth power for young people to love, learn, educate, heal, and transform lives and communities. RYSE engages young people ages 13-24 with deep relationship-building and integrative supports, opportunities and outlets.
Programs and services at RYSE’s youth-designed campus include:
- Wellness practices, arts expression, and political education
- Peer identity groups such as Alphabet Group (LGBTQIA+ Group)
- Health Justice Center: LGBTQ+ affirming holistic health services and community linkages
- Culturally-responsive therapy, case management and crisis response
- Tutoring, career exploration, school-linked advocacy
- Transition, reentry and restorative justice diversion programming
- Leadership Pathways: internships, youth participatory research, organizing and civic leadership.
- Youth Emergency Fund: direct and timely disbursements for housing, health and other crises.
