OVERVIEW
TransCamp facilitates safe outdoor experiences for trans adults so that they can connect to each other and themselves in nature. Founded in 2022 by two trans men, Samudra Sol and Elijah Barnard, TransCamp brings together trans people in the Bay Area to find belonging through nature. The only two requirements for attendees is that they self-identify as trans and are at least 18 years old. TransCamp is a volunteer-run, community-building experience that centers on Trans Joy. Our camping trips provide a peaceful place for trans people to be their authentic selves, inviting campers to share their skills and resources with others and intentionally participate in the community-building experience. TransCamp empowers trans people to envision a community built on care and understanding and to take part in creating this community together.
