Pride in Our Community

Pride Month is a time to celebrate the diversity and strength of our LGBTQ community. It is also a time to support one another.

Today marks not only the beginning of Pride Month but also the launch of Give OUT Day, Horizons’ month-long fundraising campaign culminating on June 30, Give OUT Day itself.

The only national day of giving for the LGBTQ community, Give OUT Day has enabled hundreds of LGBTQ nonprofits — especially small, grassroots organizations — to raise millions of dollars. These organizations span the nation and all facets of the LGBTQ community, from community centers and civil rights organizations to choirs and sports leagues. The hundreds of participating nonprofits support all parts of the LGBTQ community, especially the most marginalized, from youth and elders to people of color and transgender folks.

This Pride Month, will you support the critical work of an LGBTQ nonprofit?

This June also finds us well over a year into a devastating pandemic that has forced us all to reconsider the meaning of community. Pride, which began as an uprising led by trans folks and people of color, now often means parades and parties. But today, we’re in community in the most meaningful way possible: supporting LGBTQ people in great and immediate need — especially the most marginalized.

If you are able, I hope that you consider making a contribution to an LGBTQ nonprofit whose work is close to your heart during this month's Give OUT Day campaign. Thank you for your continued engagement with Horizons and our programs — together, the future is ours to give.
