Give OUT Day 2021 Final Results: Over $1.9 Million Raised for 400+ LGBTQ Nonprofits During Pride Month
July 13, 2021, San Francisco – Give OUT Day, the only national day of giving for the LGBTQ community, today announced final results of the 2021 campaign: over $1.9 million was raised from over 20,000 donors. Give OUT Day is the 24-hour culmination of a month-long campaign during which over 400 LGBTQ nonprofits raise funds to support their critical work.
“During a time of profound need, as the LGBTQ community continues to recover from the pandemic, thousands of donors came together online, supporting hundreds of grassroots LGBTQ organizations across the country,” said Nikole Pagan, who manages the Give OUT Day program. “These funds will help the LGBTQ community rebuild after this crisis.”
In addition to the funds raised by individuals, prize grants were awarded to organizations that raised funds from the greatest number of individual donors in multiple categories, called Leaderboards, and during particular hours, called Power Hours. These Leaderboard prizes are supported by Horizons Foundation, Laughing Gull Foundation, Harnisch Foundation, and the Give Now Fund of Horizons Foundation, and the Power Hours are sponsored by LGBTQ Nation and Horizons Foundation. Since 2013, Give OUT Day has helped hundreds of grassroots nonprofits raise millions of dollars from tens of thousands of individual donors. Spanning all 50 states, D.C., and Puerto Rico, these organizations support all facets of the LGBTQ community, from groups specifically supporting LGBTQ people of color and transgender people to groups focused on legal rights and the arts.
