Support for filming of interviews for the Harry Hay Documentary Project - The Father of Gay Liberation

Support of a grant writer for a cooperative project of Gay & Lesbian Outreach to Elders in San Francisco, Lavender Seniors of the East Bay, and Spectrum Center in Marin, this is the nation's first collaborative effort to serve older gays and lesbians. It will provide emotional Support to isolated seniors in San Francisco, Marin and the East Bay by training and supervising volunteers who will offer telephone support, home visits and group connections to at-risk seniors whose fear of discrimination have kept them hidden from mainstream services. The Collaborative will also train mainstream health and social service providers to be more effective in aiding people who have been afraid to seek the assistance they need.

Support for a conference and exhibit, Active Edge, which will highlight the works and activism of lesbian artists on race, class, disability and sexual identity. Lesbians in the Visual Arts exists to make lesbian visual artists and their work increasingly visible and to provide advocacy, information, skills and support to help them overcome many of the barriers that they face within the arts community and in the larger society

The Asylum project is to secure equal protection under law for individuals seeking political asylum because of persecution based on sexual orientation or HIV status. The Project provides documentation and other support services to attorneys and their clients. The Project also provides trainings for INS personnel on asylum based on sexual orientation and engages in advocacy to ensure supportive practices at the UNHCR, the State Department, and the Department of Justice
