Support for lesbian programming

Support of to retain a fundraising consultant to conduct research, develop and submit proposals to appropriate foundations and corporations for a cooperative project of Gay & Lesbian Outreach to Elders in San Francisco, Lavender Seniors of the East Bay, and Spectrum Center in Marin, this is the nation's first collaborative effort to serve older gays and lesbians. It will provide emotional Support to isolated seniors in San Francisco, Marin and the East Bay by training and supervising volunteers who will offer telephone support, home visits and group connections to at-risk seniors whose fear of discrimination have kept them hidden from mainstream services. The Collaborative will also train mainstream health and social service providers to be more effective in aiding people who have been afraid to seek the assistance they need.

Support for the "Elements and Angles" series of interactive panels and workshops focuses on career development and other important issues facing lesbians in the visual arts. This year's series addresses: "What is a Lesbian Artist," "Class and Race in Lesbian Art," "Disability and the Lesbian Artist," and "The Lesbian Artist as Activist." Lesbians in the Visual Arts exists to make lesbian visual artists and their work increasingly visible and to provide advocacy, information, skills and Support to help them overcome many of the barriers that they face within the arts community and in the larger society.

Support for LYFE's mentoring programs, which match LGBTQ youth & adults who share experiences that shape and expand ideas of community, family, friends and self

Support for expansion of the Young Women's Program with creation of a new Young Women's Program Assistant position. LYRIC is the only full-service community center for LGBTQ young people in the San Francisco Bay Area, and its programs provide social and recreational opportunities, as well as responding to a wide range of its constituency's needs

Support for Sambal Belacan in San Francisco, A provocative and richly-textured documentary that explores the "quest for home' for three first-generation Asian lesbians (originally from Singapore) now living in the SF Bay Area. Beautifully shot, this film combines documentary footage, scripted scenes, and poetry, to examine how lesbian sexuality, immigration, and cultural identity raises pertinent questions about "belonging"
